I'd have thought there might be mileage in talking to the personnel dept of your local trust/s.
Also - maybe approach nursing agencies such as medicare. Haven't done bank work for many years but when I did that was how I got into it. Good luck, Stuart |

Hello Louise and thanks Stuart for your expert advice here again
Just to re-itterate what Stuart has said then you need to find out what local authority/area you live in and this might mean your under a local area such as mine in Uxbridge, but I am on a border with Hertforshire and that is actually nearer to me than my postcode suggests
Look at how close your home is to how far you want to travel or can afford to travel these days! Bank nursing means registering with an area hospital or agency which may not be in your post code area, but nearer to you regards travel I hope that made sence?
Anyway you need to phone the hospital in the area you want to work in or sign up with an agency in the area you want to work and they will ask you for a cv and any records of previous study, if you have them like NVQ certificates or student nurse records (portfolio is a good record of studentship) and the agency may also want to to a CRB check (Criminal Records Beaureau)check which may or may not be at your expense and may take some time, but if your determined to care then it is worth the wait, unless you have a criminal record that you know about and you should mention this to the agency or place of work as not all criminal records will stop you from nursing!
Any crimes/criminal records of a sexual nature or violent crimes using firearms will mean you will not be accepted by the nursing profession or by agencies! so do not bother to apply! unless they have been spent for over 20 years! Edited by Pure Maiden! |

Thanks to you both for your replies, they both make sense. Im going to give the hospital a call today and find out more. I couldnt do it straight away as I have a holiday planned so the CRB wait is no problem.
Thanks again x |
